The Reverend Patricia Daniel-Turk
Clergy Associate Patricia is a native North Carolinian, a true "Tarheel" born and bred. She received her Masters in Divinity in 1985 from THE Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria and was ordained a transitional Deacon in 1985, then a priest in 1986. Prior to retirement in 2010, Patricia served parishes in the Dioceses of North Carolina, Central Florida and Florida. Prior to seminary, she worked in the field of social work, with a data processing company in public relations, and with the Research Triangle Institute. Patricia and husband Jim retired to Beaufort in 2011 after 23 years in Florida. Their son Rob and wife Claire live in Macon, GA with their English Cream Retriever, Eloise. Patricia and Jim have an English Springer Spaniel named Buddy. Patricia's interests include reading, knitting, time with family and friends, walking, and taking full advantage of life in the South Carolina Lowcountry. |
The Reverend James C. Dannals
Clergy Associate Jim grew up in Central Florida and is a graduate of Florida State University and Yale University Divinity School. Beginning in 1979, Jim served six congregations of The Episcopal Church in Florida, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Virginia. After his retirement in 2013, he served four congregations in South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida. He was St. Mark's first and only Vicar from 2014-2015. Jim has been married to Carolyn Hoffman Dannals for 50+ years and they have three sons and four grandchildren. |
The Reverend Jack F. Nietert
Clergy Associate Jack was born and raised in New York as an Episcopalian. He attended Hobart College and The General Theological Seminary. After being ordained in 1966, he served congregations in the Hudson River Valley before moving to Mt. Pleasant, SC, in 1975. Except for a nine-year tenure as Rector of a church in Kansas City, MO, he has served congregations and the Diocese of South Carolina for 40 years. Currently he is retired but assists with a mid-week service at All Saints’, Hilton Head and fills in when needed at St. Mark’s. Occasionally he supplies at other congregations in the Diocese. Most of his free time is now spent in his woodworking shop. Jack and his wife, Chris, have lived in Beaufort since 1998 and have four adult children, five grandchildren, and a sweet dog. |
The Reverend Tom Wilson
Clergy Associate While practicing law in Topeka, Kansas, Tom got the call to the priesthood and took up his studies at the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas School of Ministry. From 1994 when he was ordained as a priest and deacon until 2007 when he left the practice of law, he was bi-vocational! Later he pursued additional studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. Tom served as priest-in-charge, on staff, or as rector at 6 different parishes in Kansas. He is now canonically resident in the Diocese of South Carolina and retired as Chaplain at Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community in Charleston. He has served on standing committees, as a Diocesan Trustee and as Dean of Diocesan Convocation. He has facilitated Education for Ministry (EfM) programs and participated in and later helped to lead numerous Cursillo weekends. Tom and his wife Ruth Weber have been married for many years and have two children. |
The Reverend Deacon Ken Kraft
Deacon Ken is a native of Arkansas where he was confirmed in the Episcopal Church, married his college sweetheart, was commissioned in the U.S. Army, and began a 20-year career, retiring in Augusta, Georgia. While in the Army, Ken served with his wife in various lay capacities and raised their two sons and daughter to confirmation. Widowed in 2005, Ken attended Cursillo and Education for Ministry to explore a new commitment to the Church. In 2008, he was led to volunteer ministry to youth and adult prisons in Georgia and South Carolina. Seeing a need there for ordained clergy support, Ken entered formation in 2018 and was ordained as a Vocational Deacon in September 2020. |
